Though we are good with it but did it ever crossed your mind that the chemicals in the sanitizers are bad for your engagement ring?

The Jewellery experts revealed that excessive use of hand sanitizer and any other cleaning agents can make damage the white gold finish on the ring but it won’t cause immediate damage.  Also, the chemicals in cleaning liquids such as chlorine, bleach, rubbing alcohol, antibacterial soaps as well as the hand sanitizers can also damage the beauty of metals and gems over time.

These sanitizers may hamper the shine of your rock, which may be difficult to get back. Above all, it can dull the lustre of your ring as well as destroy the setting of the ring too. We are not telling you to stop using these sanitizers and cleansers and keeping them hygienic is also one thing but engagement rings need to be protected. So, here are some tips to keep them all safe…

Taking it off and keeping it safe

The easiest way to protect them is by taking it off and keeping it somewhere safe. As you are at home all the time and you won’t be meeting anyone, therefore, you can live without it on your finger. Trust us, this is the smartest thing to do to save it from all the chemicals.

Go for gloves

If you are attached to your engagement ring and don’t want to take it off, then you can totally go for gloves. Wearing rubber gloves while doing household chores like cleaning and washing can also save your ring as your ring will not get in contact with any chemicals

Don’t forget to take care of it

We know you are at home but this doesn’t mean that you don’t need to take care of your engagement ring. Just try to keep it shining!

Don’t let it get in contact with harsh chemicals

One of the other simplest ways to protect it is by taking it off every time you wash your hands or using a hand sanitizer. Just remove it, clean your hands and put it back on! As simple as that.

With these tips, you can continue with all your hygiene routine without damaging your engagement ring.
