A bride’s perfect look is incomplete without that perfect hairstyle. It adds the glam to the whole look and makes your bridal look all glammed up. Plus, this could turn into a nightmare if you have short hair. Being an Indian bride, the most common bridal hairstyles require long hair, be it a bun, braid or any other kind of hairdo you are looking forward to getting on your wedding functions. So, if you are keen on growing your hair long then follow these simple steps that are totally going to help you out to get that desired length.

Say no to monthly trimming

You must have heard that regular trimming helps to grow your better, but it’s not at all true. On the contrary, this won’t help as your hair grows half an inch every month and if you are going to get a haircut then you will be cutting off the progress. Plus, if you get trimming then it can lead to split ends which aren’t good either, therefore you can get your hair trimmed once in three months to cut away dead ends without stunting growth.

Gentle care

Your haircare is all in your hands so, you need to be gentle with them. To give them gentle care you should avoid using harsh chemicals and also limit the number of times you shampoo your hair. Frequent washes can lead to stripping of natural oils from your strands that can lead to breakage.

Avoid heated styling

We all love styling our hair with blow dries, curling irons or straighteners but they are all really harmful for the hair. It dries our strands and causes more frizz. It is always advised to let your hair dry naturally, not brushing as well as sleeping with the wet hair. Always detangle your damp hair with a wide-tooth comb and gently squeeze excess water out with an old T-shirt for a gentler approach.

Drink lots of water and have a healthy diet

If you want to keep your hair all moisturized and healthy then should always stay hydrated. Drinking lots of water helps push toxins out of the body that further promotes hair growth. You should also eat more veggies and fruits that help you strengthen your hair.

Leave them loose

We all love to escape a bad hair day by tying them up in a ponytail of a bun with the help of a rubber band. But pulling the hair back tightly can into a ponytail actually damage the hair in the long run. Leave your hair loose and avoid pulling it back tightly.

Be smart while selecting your shampoos

Always check the contents of your shampoo as most of them have silicone that coats the further blocking the nutrients and preventing the hair from getting the proper nourishment required to grow them long. Silicone-free shampoos as a bit more might be more expensive, but they are really good for your hair.

Hot oil massages

It may be counterintuitive to go for oil massages for the oily scalp but it will surely help in breaking down the build-up on your scalp which will further help in stimulating the hair growth from the roots. The best way to do it is by applying either coconut or jojoba oil to your scalp before you having a shower. You can let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes in the steam from your running shower and then rubbing it into the scalp and washing it out with the shampoo.

Go for home remedies

There are so many simple home remedies that can help you get the hair length of your dreams. There are so many items available in your kitchen that can be of use. You can try rinsing your hair weekly with either an apple cider vinegar, onion water, palm oil or grapeseed oil that will make your hair healthy and silky.

Use only silk pillow covers

It may sound like a luxury, but trust us it’s all worth the investment. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase actually helps your hair grow long. It is advised to use silk pillow covers as cotton or linen fabrics can pull or tug at hair, that can cause breakage. On the other hand, silk won’t cause any unwanted friction that helps to make your hair smooth and knot-free. Plus, these sill pillow covers also help to have smooth wrinkle-free skin too.

Let your hair’s natural oil spread

We are all in the habit of going to bed without brushing our hair because of laziness. Trust us, giving your hair a few quick strokes would be really beneficial for your hair’s health. Just start from the scalp and use a boar bristle brush as it will help to distribute the scalp’s oils evenly onto your hair. This will help your hair to stay naturally moisturized. We really swear on this simple step as doing it every night this will help increase circulation, which helps make your scalp healthier.

Add a vitamin to your morning routine

There are chances that your diet is not able to supply you with enough nutrition, which cannot give you your desired results. All you can do is add a supplement could make a world of difference. You can go for a multivitamin that’s formulated for hair, skin and nails. They have important vitamins like biotin and C as well as B vitamins that will support hair health.

Don’t go for the blonde as your new hair colour

We all have a little inclination towards blonde hair colour. You have to resist the urge of going from a darker shade to light blonde as it may create a hurdle in your efforts to get those long tresses. This happens because the cuticle of the hair gets damaged from bleach, and also resulting in breakage or split ends. Always keep in mind, the fewer chemical treatments, the better your hair will grow.

Always finish rinsing off your hair with cold water

It is always advised to avoid a super-steamy shower as its really bad for your skin and not only for skin but it’s also rough on your hair. Therefore, it is advised to turn the water temperature down when cleansing. Also, rinse with cool water as it helps in sealing the cuticle as well as strengthens them before styling it.

Be careful while brushing wet hair

Hair is susceptible to breakage when it’s wet, and we always try to detangle them post-shower. So, just make sure you use a brush that will go easy on your strands. Nowadays there are various products available such as Tangle Teezer or Wet Brush that can help you get rid of breakage.
