Got Engaged? There are some things that you really need to avoid doing!

Getting engaged is one step forward towards starting a new life! Therefore, you should try to focus on enjoying this truly special time, not getting into the wedding planning madness that can be tackled in the coming time. Trust us, you really don’t have to start planning your wedding the moment you get engaged. There will be enough time to think about once you actually get down to business. But for a while it should be all about being in the moment, sharing your news and celebrations.

So, here are some important wedding planning to-dos you can wait to get started on.

Planning the wedding celebration

This comes naturally! After the engagement, all you want to do it plan your wedding functions. But, pause before asking all your besties to be at your wedding. Just share that news and celebrate that moment with them before diving into planning.

Lehenga Hunting

We know, you already made your mind, which colour or designer you will be wearing and if not, take your time to hunt for the perfect one! This moment should be all about being with your loved ones and celebrating the engagement, not going for the lehenga hunting.

Planning your honeymoon

There are fewer couples than ever that jet off on their honeymoons immediately following their wedding, so it’s okay if you need more time to plan your trip carefully—even if that means waiting a few weeks after your wedding to go.

Getting into details

If you are one of those who loves getting into details then take some time to do it after the engagement. There would be lots of tiny details, like your linens, table settings, favours and invitation cards, don’t need to be dealt with until well after making the bigger decisions, like your venue and photographer. If you’ve got the itch to plan right now, then we would suggest you go for the fun stuff, like tasting appointments with your caterer and cake baker or choosing your wedding colours.

Selecting Sangeet Songs

Again, your sangeet playlist—is one of those details you can keep tweaking closer to your wedding day (especially if you’re hiring a DJ). So there’s no need to stress. Find tons of inspiration from classic first-dance songs or modern, wedding-worthy hits.

So, take your time and live in the moment as eventually you will be all caught up in that wedding madness! When you’re ready to define your wedding vision, find your vendors and start planning your big day!
