Indian Weddings are not a one-day celebration. There are so many ceremonies and functions that happen before and after the wedding and being the bride you have to get decked up at all these ceremonies. So many make-up clad days can really bother your skin and things can be a little serious when you have sensitive skin. If you are also one of those who have sensitive skin then you have to make sure that your makeup doesn’t irritate your skin and cause any kind of redness or rashes on the wedding day.

The most important thing that you need to keep in mind that you need to have a clear canvas for makeup. It should be free from any active acne, rosacea, eczema, or sunburn, as clear skin will save you from any reactions, as compromised skin equals highly reactive skin. It is strongly advised to get your skin treated before venturing into makeup experimentation. Also, do have a backup prescription from your derma that includes a steroid cream in case you flare at the last moment. Specialists also recommended that steroids should only be used as a last resort but it will work faster than any other intervention to calm facial rashes.

It is also suggested to stay steer clear of products with fragrance and preservatives, as they have common ingredients that can trigger inflammation as well as allergies. Don’t forget to test the products that would be used for your makeup so that you can know about any allergies or reactions beforehand.

Various dermatologists and allergists also suggest to go for patch testing, which is a popular form of testing an allergy and it is usually performed when there is a suspicion of a contact allergy.

And when in doubt? Only use those brands that are specially formulated for sensitive skin. Also, just stick to cosmetics or products that are tried-and-tested that you use regularly.

In the end, we just want you to extra careful as you don’t want to end up with a reaction on your wedding day and ruin the most important day of your life. Don’t forget to share your skin concerns with your makeup artists beforehand so that they can be extra careful while doing your makeup.
